Startories Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 26, 2026
Startories, operated by Nzoni App LLC ("Startories", "we", "us" or "our"), is a B2B acquisition engine. We detect public buying signals, identify the right decision makers at the companies behind them, and run personalized outreach on behalf of our customers to turn that intent into meetings, trials and sales.
This policy explains what personal data we process when you use startories.com and the Startories app (the "Service"), and when we process data about business contacts ("prospects") for our customers. If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, please also read our GDPR notice.
1. Who this policy covers
- Customers and visitors: people who visit our website, create an account, set up a project or pay for a subscription.
- Prospects: professionals whose business information we find in public sources and deliver to a customer as a lead, or whom we contact as part of a customer campaign.
2. Information we collect from customers
- Account data: name, email address and password (stored as a secure hash), or the basic profile Google shares with us when you sign in with Google.
- Project data: your product website URL, product description, ideal customer profiles, target countries and company sizes, chosen signal sources, campaign goal and goal link, competitors, contact email and any notes you give us.
- Website analysis: when you add a project, we fetch the public pages of the URL you provide to generate a product description and suggested ideal customer profiles.
- Billing data: your plan, subscription status and payment history. Card details are collected and stored by Stripe, never by us. If you cancel, we record the reason you choose.
- Usage data: actions you take in the app (for example qualifying a lead or adding a note to a conversation), device and browser information, and pages visited, used to operate, secure and improve the Service.
- Communications: messages you send to our support team.
3. Information we process about prospects
To deliver leads, we collect business information from publicly available sources such as Reddit, X (Twitter), Product Hunt, startup and software directories and search engine results, and from lawful data providers. For each lead this may include:
- the public post, launch, job listing or other signal that shows buying intent, with a link to it;
- company information: name, domain, industry, size, country, funding, technologies used and public news;
- contact information: name, job title, business email address and its verification status, whether a professional profile exists, location and time zone;
- scores and short summaries explaining why the company is a good fit now, and a suggested outreach angle;
- campaign history: emails sent to the prospect, replies received, the intent of each reply (for example interested, not now, unsubscribe) and meetings booked.
We only target professionals in their business capacity. We do not intentionally collect sensitive data (such as health, political opinions or religious beliefs) and we exclude it when we see it.
4. How we use information
- Provide the Service: analyze your product, detect and score signals, find and verify decision makers, deliver leads to your dashboard and run the campaigns you approve.
- Send outreach and manage replies: emails are sent from dedicated sender mailboxes that our team sets up and manages. Replies, including those that land in spam folders, are collected into the project's unified inbox.
- Classify and answer replies with AI: incoming replies are classified (for example interested, question, unsubscribe or spam) and an AI assistant drafts answers that move the conversation toward the project goal. Simple, low-risk answers may be sent automatically; sensitive ones (pricing, legal, complaints and similar) are reviewed by our team before sending.
- Process payments and manage subscriptions, including upgrades, cancellations and renewals.
- Respond to support requests and send service messages (for example billing or security notices).
- Send product news, only where permitted, with an opt-out in every message.
- Protect the Service, prevent abuse, enforce our Terms and comply with the law.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use customer data or prospect conversations to train general-purpose AI models.
5. Who can see what
- Each customer only sees the leads, campaigns and conversations of its own projects.
- Customers can read the messages and replies of their campaigns but do not see sender mailbox credentials or technical sending details.
- Authorized members of the Startories team access project data to set up, run and support the Service.
6. Service providers
We share data only with providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of it:
- Stripe: payments and subscription billing.
- Google: Google Sign-In, and the Gemini API used to analyze websites and draft replies.
- Typesage (Jev): classification of incoming emails and their intent.
- Email providers (such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365): hosting of the sender mailboxes used for campaigns.
- Hosting, database, analytics and support tools that store or process data for us.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy continues to apply.
7. Data retention
- Account and project data are kept while your account is active. When a subscription is not renewed, the project becomes read-only and its data is kept so you can renew; you can ask us to delete it at any time.
- Prospect data is kept while it is useful for the customer project it belongs to, and deleted on request or when the project is deleted.
- Opt-out and unsubscribe records are kept so that we do not contact that person again.
- Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting laws require.
8. Cookies
We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as the selected project) and understand how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser, but parts of the Service may then stop working.
9. Security
We protect data with access controls, encrypted connections, separation of data between customer projects and administrator-only access to sensitive settings. Sender mailbox passwords are encrypted at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities of a breach where the law requires.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or export your personal data, and to object to its processing, including for direct marketing.
- Customers can update project data in the app or contact us.
- Prospects can reply "unsubscribe" to any of our emails or contact us. We stop the outreach and can remove your data from our customers' projects.
To exercise your rights, contact us at click to show email. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
11. International transfers
We and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. When data from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland is transferred, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
12. Children
The Service is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. We will post the new version on this page with a new date and, for significant changes, notify customers by email or in the app.
